Day 24: the Dogs Are Barking
Well, this is not going to be our biggest climb yet, but it will be close. Today, we are hiking from Villafranca del Bierzo up to O Cebreiro, a 30.1km hike with an ascent of 1,200 meters. I am a bit nervous. Thankfully, at the top, there should be some amazing views, and some interesting buildings.

I was going to ask how your feet were doing. I hear there are stations along the way specifically for mending worn feet—blisters, etc.
My question: Did you feel like the walk helped slow down the pace of life for you or where you trying to beat the clock and get to the final destination?
Hopey, my mom and I got out the atlas last night and looked at your blog to map your route. You must be nearly finished! Looks and sounds like an amazing trip. Can't wait to hear the details and see the pics. Thinking of you in post-op recovery, which is going so much better than before. Love you! Joy
